Today, we give a big shoutout to Ms. McCarter and Ms. Peeples, our incredible middle school nursing staff, who do so much more than just hand out Band-Aids and magic ice packs. From tummy aches to tough days, they are always there with compassion, care, and a calm presence that makes all the difference. Middle school can be tough, but knowing they are there helps our students feel safe, supported, and seen. Thank you, Ms. McCarter and Ms. Peeples, for everything you do — we appreciate you today and every day!

Woodridge will have MAP testing this week. All students will be testing in their Math and ELA classes. Eighth-grade students will also be testing in science the week of May 12th. Please encourage your student to charge their Chromebook nightly, get plenty of sleep, and eat a healthy breakfast.

Today, we celebrate the incredible heroes behind the scenes — our amazing food service workers! In our middle school cafeteria, where the lunch hour feels like a whirlwind of trays, laughter, spilled milk, and endless energy, these incredible individuals keep everything moving with patience, skill, and a whole lot of heart. From prepping meals at the crack of dawn to serving hundreds of hungry (and very lively!) students in what feels like minutes, you handle every challenge with a smile. You’re not just feeding bodies — you’re fueling futures, building community, and showing kindness in every interaction. We see you, we appreciate you, and we’re so grateful for all you do!

Today we’re celebrating two amazing women who lead with heart, humor, and an unstoppable commitment to our students. Whether it’s greeting kids with a smile, cheering them on in the halls, or making school feel like a second home — Dr. Green and Dr. Flick go above and beyond every single day. Thank you for creating a place where students feel supported, learning is fun, and laughter is always welcome. You make a difference more than you know!

We are ONE WEEK away from the deadline to register for Summer School and the 2025-26 school year! Summer School is scheduled for June 2-30, 2025. All families must complete the online registration by May 2, 2025, to ensure transportation for both 2025 Summer School and the 2025-2026 school year. If registration is not complete by the deadline, your student will not receive transportation for the first full week of summer school or for the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year. Middle School Volleyball Camp will be held at Woodridge from June 2-5. This is for any female student who will be in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade during the 2025-2026 school year. Please email Coach McCoy with any questions (bmccoy@northwestschools.net)

Join us this Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Northwest Early Childhood Center (6180 Highway MM in House Springs) for the annual District Art Show. The District Art Show features a variety of artwork from talented Northwest students of all grade levels. Admission is free, and all are welcome. We hope to see you there!

NJHS is sponsoring a school supply raffle. Bring in a new school supply or $1 to receive a raffle ticket to win prizes such as gift cards and other items! All money raised will be used to buy school supplies for teachers. The drawing for the baskets will be held on May 2.

Today, we celebrate our amazing school bus drivers! Rain or shine, they’re the first to greet our kids in the morning and the last to see them home safe. Thank you for your kindness, patience, and dedication. You drive more than buses—you drive futures.

This week's #TeacherProudTuesday honoree is Woodridge Middle School English Language Arts teacher Roseanne Snodgrass! Dr. Liz Green, principal at WMS, said "She is meticulous about teaching well-prepared lessons and she understands the needs of the learners in her classroom. Band Rental Night for the whole district is tomorrow, April 22, at Woodridge Middle School. This is for all students playing an instrument in the 2025-2026 school year. It is an Open House, and families can come anytime between 5 and 7 p.m.
