At Murphy Elementary, Mrs. King's class is utilizing technology to become better readers. They are listening to the book on their Chromebooks while reading along in a physical copy of the book. By doing this, it aids in increasing their reading fluency.

Congratulations to Murphy Elementary School second grade teacher Sydney Casey, this week's #TeacherProudTuesday honoree! MES principal Gretchen Gorgal said "When you walk into her classroom, you see students actively engaged as Mrs. Casey is facilitating their learning with passion and enthusiasm." Thank you for everything you do for our students, Mrs. Casey!

Amanda Tindall’s kindergarten class at Murphy Elementary recently brought their imaginations to life! Her students drew unique monsters and created background stories for them. Tindall then teamed up with Woodridge Middle School FACS teacher Jessica Miers, whose students were learning to sew.
Miers’ students took the kindergarteners’ drawings and transformed them into real plush creations! Yesterday, Tindall’s class received their handmade monsters, while Miers’ students got to see their reactions live via Google Meet.
A wonderful example of creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning across grade levels!

Due to snow covered roads and continued snow, the Northwest R-I School District will be closed for a traditional snow day on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

Stay safe, stay warm, and enjoy your snow day.
