Dear Northwest Families,
We have been monitoring the flooding and watching the forecast of the Big River. Several roads in the district are impassable and the Big River will crest during school hours tomorrow. Out of an abundance of caution, we will have an Alternative Method of Instruction (AMI) day November 6, 2024.

During today's PD, staff participated in a Synergizing activity where they painted flags to hang outside of classrooms and offices!

Just a reminder that there will be NO SCHOOL on November 4th & 5th!

It's been a busy week in Ms. Shara's class! This week Ms. Shara's little leaders synergized and sang a pumpkin rhyme! They also talked about their families and added their family pictures to their leadership binders!

Upcoming November Spirit Days!

Thanks to these ECC leaders who noticed the trash in our field and immediately asked if they could go clean it up! 💙

Let's all congratulate Northwest Early Childhood Center critical needs paraprofessional Valerie Soer, this week's #SupportStaffSuperstar. ECC director Susan Wingenbach said, "The relationships she fosters with her students and families continue long after preschool and are a testament to the genuine connections she makes." Thank you for all you do, Ms. Valerie!

THANK YOU to Studio 30 Salon for volunteering their time and services providing FREE HAIRCUTS to our students!

Congratulations to Clare Klinkhardt, an early childhood special education teacher from the Early Childhood Center, for being this week's #TeacherProudTuesday recipient! Susan Wingenbach, director of the ECC, said "She has the biggest heart and gives everything she has to her students." Thank you for everything you do for our little Lions, Ms. Clare!

We loved seeing so many of our current AND past ECC families at today's homecoming parade! Homecoming spirit week starts tomorrow with CAMO DAY! 💙🦁🤍

We kicked off our building leadership roles today! This week we had Snack Cart Leaders, Green Gardeners, Fairy Garden Friends, Diaper Pals, and Office Officials all working hard around ECC! Picture Patrol was there to capture all of our leaders in action!

We filled up our Home-School Connection board with all of your Habit 1 projects! This month we are focusing on Habit 2! We sent home a star with each student. Please talk with your student about a goal they can work on at home! We will display the stars on our board as they return to school!

It was Leadership Luau day at ECC and this month's theme was Disney! Today we learned about Habit 2: Begin with the end in mind! This month we will work on making a plan to help us reach our goals!

Thank you to our AMAZING ECC custodians, Mr. Bill and Mr. Dillin! We appreciate everything you do to help our school shine!

This Friday (10/4) is the final day to order this year's ECC t-shirt!

ECC will be celebrating Northwest's Homecoming with a SPIRIT WEEK starting on Monday, October 7th!

October 2nd is Disney Day at ECC!

We could not have asked for more perfect weather for our first event of the year! Thanks for hanging out with us at tonight's "Chalk the Walk"! 💙

Our 2024-2025 Student Lighthouse Team met for the first time today! We can already tell this group of leaders will do amazing things for ECC! We planned our next Leadership Luau and we will be sharing the theme soon! 🦁

We hope you will come out to see some of your ECC teachers and staff at the Northwest Homecoming Parade on October 6th!
