Happy Wednesday! We dropped in at Woodridge Middle School this morning to see what was happening. In Mr. Shulik's 7th grade social studies class, students were reading and discussing the book "A Long Walk to Water." The students in Mrs. Snodgrass' 7th grade Language Arts class were reading and researching the book "Refugee." In the office, students interviewed WMS principal Dr. Green for the WMS Weekly News! There's always lots of learning and smiles at WMS!!

This week's #TeacherProudTuesday honoree is Lisa Krieg, first grade teacher at Murphy Elementary School! Gretchen Gorgal, principal of Murphy Elementary, said "She has a natural ability to connect with her students, always finding creative ways to support their individual abilities and help them excel." Starting Monday, Oct. 14, each Monday and Friday breakfast at elementary schools will be Lucky Tray Day! A student with a lucky tray, signified by a sticker on the tray, will win a prize. Each elementary school will have two winners per day!

We had a fantastic time at the Valley Middle School Pep Rally this morning! Lots of games, lots of fun and lots of spirit! A big thanks to the VMS StuCrew for organizing and hosting the event!

We visited a few classrooms at Cedar Springs Elementary this morning to see what our students were up to. From kindergarten students practicing their upper and lower case letters and alphabetizing to students working on their reading, writing, and math, our students are ready and eager to learn.

Starting this week, we are honoring our #SupportStaffSuperstars at Northwest. The first honoree is Valley Middle School paraprofessional Stephanie Kidwell! Dr. Spencer Storey, principal at VMS, said "Stephanie has a knack for listening to, understanding, and finding solutions for students and teachers." Congratulations, Ms. Kidwell, and thank you for all you do for our students at Valley Middle School!
