This morning, students in the RISE Program at Valley Middle School got a head start on Halloween by going trick or treating at the Northwest Administrative Center this morning!

However, some students encounter challenges in making these transitions smoothly and benefit from extra support. The STEPUP Program, offered by Lafayette Industries to several Northwest R-I School District seniors and others in the St. Louis metropolitan area, is designed to bridge this gap.

Northwest Early Childhood Center Director Susan Wingenbach recognized early childhood special education teacher Melissa Myers for her work with our youngest Lions at the October 2024 Board of Education meeting held last night.

Northwest employees are proud to continue their philanthropic endeavor, “The Northwest Way.” Employees have the opportunity to participate by donating a payroll deduction at an amount they select. This month’s recipient of The Northwest Way donation is Feed My People.

Northwest employees celebrate Caring Community Connection (C3) days. This program assists local programs that are not part of our Northwest Way initiative. Employees who donate $5 are able to wear blue jeans on a designated day. The recipient of this month’s C3 program is Lafayette Industries.

Happy Wednesday! We dropped in at Woodridge Middle School this morning to see what was happening.
In Mr. Shulik's 7th grade social studies class, students were reading and discussing the book "A Long Walk to Water."
The students in Mrs. Snodgrass' 7th grade Language Arts class were reading and researching the book "Refugee."
In the office, students interviewed WMS principal Dr. Green for the WMS Weekly News!
There's always lots of learning and smiles at WMS!!
