Due to snow covered roads and continued snow, the Northwest R-I School District will be closed for a traditional snow day on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
Our last day of school is now scheduled to be Friday, May 30, 2025.

The Northwest R-I School District is proud to be this year and next year's host for the Jefferson County State of the County Breakfast. Jefferson County Missouri Executive Dennis Gannon, Jefferson County Growth Association President Dan Govero, and Northwest superintendent Dr. Jennifer Hecktor spoke about the roles of their respective offices and positions within the community, including future plans for the County. Student leaders from our schools, cheerleaders, and musicians provided entertainment. Thank you to all who participated in and planned this event.










Today is School Resource Officer Appreciation Day! We want to thank Deputy Dennis and Deputy Belcher from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office for being two of the best around!
These two gentlemen go above and beyond to keep our schools safe, build positive relationships with students, and serve as mentors and role models for our students. Thank you for being such a huge part of Lion Nation and our community!

There's a lot happening at Brennan Woods Elementary today! From reviewing a research paper and taking reading assessments to working with equivalent fractions and working on IReady, our students are engaged and ready to learn!

The House Springs Elementary School Art Leaders group participated in an activity called "Portraits for Paws," where the students drew and painted portraits of dogs awaiting their forever home at the Jefferson County Animal Resource Center in House Springs.
The Art Leaders also got to spend some time with a few of the puppies, all of which are available for adoption.

Congratulations to Carrie Stinson, this week's #TeacherProudTuesday honoree! Mrs. Stinson is a kindergarten teacher at House Springs Elementary. She has been teaching in the Northwest district since 2000! The Northwest R-I School District will be the host for this year's Jefferson County Growth Association "State of the County" breakfast at the Northwest High School gymnasium at 7 a.m. on February 17, 2025.
Guest speakers are Northwest Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Hecktor, JCGA President Dan Govero, and Jefferson County Missouri Executive Dennis Gannon.

Cedar Springs 5th graders were able to create artworks for the 8th Cape Lookout National Seashore art exhibit from May 1 - November 1, 2025. Each student created an individual piece of artwork with the theme of environment on the coast and in the oceans.
Students then collaborated to use parts of EVERY students individual artwork to create a single cohesive piece to paint and then detail with markers. Every student had opportunities to paint and to draw on the final piece.
This experience was through the International Fibers Consortium. A total of 30 canvases will be displayed in this show.

This morning, we visited Cedar Springs Elementary and spent time in the classrooms of Ms. Oglesby, Ms. Brown, Ms. Evans, and Ms. Bieker. From math reviews to reading and writing, students were engaged, learning, and having fun!
