"The 2026 Marching Band meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 11th. This will take place in the Lecture Hall at Northwest High School. The meeting will start at 6 PM. Families should enter through door #4, which is located near the band room. Upon entering door 4, they should turn left to go to the lecture hall. During the meeting, Mr. Dunsford will provide valuable information, including pricing for the upcoming marching band season, which includes a trip to San Antonio, Texas! A Mattress Sale Fundraiser representative will also be at the meeting to get students started with this fundraiser. All current 8th graders are eligible to be members of the award-winning Spirit of Northwest Marching Band as instrumentalists(woodwind, brass, percussion) or in our color guard. Valley Middle School RISE and NCAT students got a jump start on Halloween as they went trick or treating at the Northwest Administrative Center offices this morning. Lots of smiles, fun costumes, and jokes made for a good time for the students and the NAC staff.

STEM labs are always fun!
Mr. Mitchell's third hour science class at Valley Middle School worked through a lab this morning where they made thermometers from canisters, clay, isopropyl alcohol, food coloring, and a straw. Students then placed their thermometers in different temperatures of water for observation.









It’s the third day of school, and progress continues on the new Fine Arts addition at Valley Middle! Crews are busy this morning installing the air and water barrier panels on the building’s exterior.

The 2025-26 Free and Reduced Price Meal Application is now available in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. If you completed an application before July 1, 2025, you must complete another one to be valid for the 2025-26 school year. Should you need a paper copy, you can get it from the Free and Reduced Application page of the district website under "How to Apply". The Eye Thrive Vision Van will be at the High Ridge branch of the Jefferson County Library on Aug. 6, 2025 for first-come-first-served free eye exams and glasses (if necessary) for school aged children.
Appointments will be accepted beginning at 9 a.m., and registration closes at 11 a.m. All services provided at no cost. The services include a comprehensive eye exam and prescription glasses if needed. Most glasses are made and dispensed onsite. Only patients are allowed on the van.

The District Art Show features a variety of artwork from talented Northwest students of all grade levels. Admission is free, and all are welcome. We hope to see you there!

Congratulations to Valley Middle School ELA/Speech and Drama teacher Brook Culleton. She is this week's #TeacherProudTuesday honoree! We dropped in on Mrs. Meade's 8th grade ELA class for a mock trial based on the Edgar Allen Poe story "The Tell-Tale Heart." Students acted as prosecution, defense, the defendant, judge, jury, and even the bailiff. As mock
trials sometimes go, a verdict has not been reached as of the end of class.
