The Northwest R-I School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Angelina Rowden as the District’s next Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools, effective July 1, 2026.
Rowden brings a wealth of experience in elementary education and leadership to her new role. She currently serves as an Administrative Intern at High Ridge Elementary in the Northwest R-I School District, where she has been actively involved in supporting school operations, student achievement, and staff development.
Prior to her time in Northwest, Rowden served as a principal for 10 years in the Sunrise R-IX School District. She also served as a Curriculum Director for one year and spent seven years as an elementary teacher in the Grandview R-II School District, giving her a well-rounded perspective on instruction, curriculum, and leadership at multiple levels.
Rowden holds a Bachelor of Education from Southwest Missouri State University, a Master of School Administration from Missouri Baptist University, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Missouri Baptist University.
“Dr. Rowden brings a wealth of diverse experience to this role. Her passion for high-quality instruction and commitment to strong elementary programming will continue to move our schools forward,” said incoming Northwest superintendent Dr. Kyle Gibbs.
In her new role, Rowden will oversee all aspects of elementary education across the district, working closely with building leaders and staff to support high-quality instruction, student growth, and a positive learning environment for all students.
“I am excited to continue serving Lion Nation as the new Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools,” said Rowden. “I look forward to supporting the outstanding staff, educators, and leaders across our PK–5 programs. Northwest is experiencing strong growth, and I am honored to contribute to that continued success while serving our school community. I am eager to be part of the Northwest leadership team and support the great work happening across our schools.”
