Northwest Board of Education President Mary Thomasson said “The Board of Education is confident that Dr. Gibbs will provide steady leadership and maintain a strong focus on student growth and achievement while continuing the positive work underway at Northwest.”

“I am excited to join the Northwest district, which I have quickly found to be progressive and focused on what is best for students,” Gibbs said. “Northwest’s motto, ‘Love, Learn, Lead,’ aligns perfectly with my core values as an educator. I was drawn to the intentional work taking place to improve student achievement, develop student leadership skills, and ensure facilities are well positioned for the future. I look forward to working alongside the strong team of educators and staff serving the Northwest community.”

As superintendent, Dr. Gibbs will oversee all district operations, including academics, personnel, finance, and facilities, while working closely with staff, families, and the community to advance the district’s short- and long-term goals.
