McPherson Named MOSPRA New Professional of the Year

Chuck McPherson, Coordinator of Communications for the Northwest School District, has been named one of the Missouri School Public Relations Association’s 2021 New Professionals of the Year.  

The primary criteria for the Professional of the Year Award are that the recipient is in their first 18 months in the field of public relations and has exhibited a creative, dedicated and professional approach to school communications. 

MOSPRA President, Kelly Wachel, APR, stated, “MOSPRA is proud to recognize Chuck for his work as a new communications professional. Chuck brings enthusiasm, professionalism and a blend of humor to his work for Northwest.”

Desi Kirchhofer, superintendent for the Northwest School District, wrote, “Chuck is a one man department. He manages our website as well as all social media accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.  Chuck also goes ‘old school’ with a semesterly paper publication of Northwest News. He is creative and clever with his social media work and has produced great videos as well. He does an outstanding job publicizing the great work of public education. In addition to all the regular communication avenues, Chuck has developed positive relationships with local news outlets that have led to some great feature stories of our district on the local news. He is truly working his craft in all areas of media and communication..”
