Hello!

I have been a teacher in the Northwest School District since the 1994-95 school year. During this time I have taught 4th grade, 5th grade and an at-risk program for 4th and 5th graders in a variety of schools throughout the district and am excited to have landed at Murphy.  I really enjoy working with the upper elementary grade level students.

I have the nickname of the Garfield teacher since I began teaching because I have quite the collection of Garfield items. My classroom is decorated with Garfield collectables, many that I have had since I started collecting as a child. I think Garfield is funny, although a little on the sarcastic side, and who doesn't love a cat that eats lasagna.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with those close to me. My husband and I enjoy traveling and taking our daughter to new places. She is a student at Northwest High School as is active in the band and plays on the golf team. I am also very active in my church and enjoy spending time serving in many capacities. Over the summers, I spend time at the pool, swimming and boating at the Lake of the Ozarks, and traveling to new places whenever possible. As a family, we also enjoy visiting state capitols and national parks and historic sites, but my favorite type of travel is to go on cruises.

I cannot imagine any other career except teaching. I believe it is what I was born to do, and I hope that shows through the excitement in the classroom each and every day.
