I am glad you stopped by to visit my page! I am the school counselor at Murphy Elementary and absolutely love my job! Initially, I started my career in other fields....banking, retail management, human resources, etc. After a few years, my interest in working with children in a helping capacity grew and I enrolled in graduate school to study Professional & School Counseling. I started my career as a school counselor in 1999 and have never looked back.

    My job is very fast-paced and I love the challenge and variety that it brings. I do many things as a school counselor and enjoy getting to know all of our students through the various activities that I am involved in. Some of my favorite tasks/roles as a school counselor are teaching classroom lessons, facilitating small counseling groups, individual counseling/consulting with students and families, facilitating 504 and IEP Referrals, and coordinating various school service projects/activities. I can honestly say that every day is different than the day before.
