Welcome to Room 29, my name is Kim Morris. This is my 25th year of teaching and my fourth year in 4th grade. I started as a psychology major at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville in 1988 but realized after 3 years that my passion was in Elementary Education. So, I came back to St. Louis and graduated from the University of Missouri, StL with a Bachelor in Science of Education. Then I went on to get my Master’s of Education from Southwest Baptist University. I began my teaching in 2nd grade in the St. Louis Public Schools. In 1999, I joined the Northwest R1 School District teaching 6th grade at Cedar Hill Intermediate. The following year a 3rd grade position opened up at Murphy Elementary and I was excited to join the MES family. I taught for many years in 3rd grade and moved to 5th grade for seven years.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my 3 kids. My son Tyler is a former Marine and currently attends college to pursue a degree in business. Chelsea, graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia with a degree in Computer Science. This June she got a job working for RSM in Irvine, California. My youngest daughter Brittany is a senior at Oakville High School and has big dreams to move to Cali with her sister and become famous! (I’ll keep you posted!?) A few of my hobbies are cooking healthy meals and exercising so I can eat lots of desserts, which is my true desire in life. I LOVE sweets!!!!! I also enjoy swimming, sun, the beach, and going on hikes.
My life is rewarding, I love my job, and I can’t wait to create many lasting memories this school year!
Sincerely,
Kim Morris
