Andy Guethle - Class of 1996

Mr. Andy Guethle is a proud son of Tom and Trish Guethle and a 1996 graduate of Northwest High School. Andy and his wife, Sara, have three sons: Henry, Sam, and Spencer. Andy has one brother, Matt, which is also a graduate of Northwest High School. Andy's high school involvement included student council, National Honor Society, Senior Class Vice-President, and playing basketball. As a basketball player, he was a four year letterman, multiple All-Conference recognitions and recognized as an All-State player in 1996. Andy averaged 21.7 points per game, 5.9 assists, and led his team to the elite eight before losing to the Desmet Spartans. Andy was the key figure in a team that went 20-9. There has only been two 20 win seasons in the history of Northwest High School. Andy's individual records that still stand are:

Andy's jersey is now currently the only jersey retired at Northwest High School.
After high school, Andy continued his basketball career at Truman State University. Andy started 114 consecutive games an was 6th all time in three-point field goals made in a career. Andy again showed his immense talent by leading Truman State to the 1998-99 National Semi Final game. This team has been inducted into the Truman State Athletic Hall of Fame. Andy's proudest moments as a player were leading his high school and college teams to the post season. Andy is now the head basketball coach at Mehlville High School and is an outstanding physical education teacher. He has been named the Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Year while working at Mehlville High School.
Christina Winkler - Class of 2001

Christina is a 2001 graduate of Northwest High School. During her high school career she lettered four years in Track and Field. Christina earned All-State Honors as a Junior and Senior setting school records in the 300 meter hurdles, 100 meter hurdles, and the 400 meter dash. She also played a key role in the 4 x 800 spring medley relay which set a school record. In addition to Trace and Field, Christina was a three year letterman in basketball and two year letterman in volleyball. She earned all-district honors in basketball and earned all-conference, all-district honors in volleyball.
Christina went on to attend college at Truman State University where she was an 8 time All-American in Track and Field. In 2004, she won the Division II National Championship in the 400 meter hurdles with an Olympic Trial qualifying time. In that same year, she was also the runner up in the 100 meter hurdles and the 60 meter hurdles Throughout her college career, she was a 10 time MIAA Conference Champion in the 100 meter hurdles, 400 meter hurdles, 400 meter run, 60 meter hurdles, and 4 x 400 meter relay races and earned All-Conference recognition 21 times. She currently hold four individual school records at Truman State and is a part of four relay team records. Christina graded college in 2005 with her B.S. in Biology. She currently resides in Oahu, Hawaii where she is the Quality and Compliance Manager for Monsanto Hawaii.
Jack Morrison - Class of 1964

Jack is a 1964 graduate of Northwest High School. As a student athlete Jack lettered in football, basketball, and track. He held the record in the 180 low hurdles until the event was retired and still holds the track records for the 110 high hurdles and the 200 meter dash. Jack also played on the 1962 undefeated Lion football team. He served as the Business Editor for the school newspaper, "The Lion Truth," and was a delegate of Missouri Boys State. After graduating in 1964 from Northwest High School, Jack enrolled at Jefferson College where he played on their first basketball team with a record of 18-8.
Jack continued his education at Arkansas State University where he lettered in track and field for three years and was President of the ASU Physical Education Majors Organization. While running for the Indians, he held the record in the 440 yard intermediate hurdles and ran 120 high hurdles with ASU teammate and future Olympian Thomas Hill. Jack was named to the All-Southland Conference as a hurdler and graduated from ASU with a B.S. in Education and a minor in Journalism. He would later earn his Master's in Education from Maryville University and become a Certified Athletic Administrator.
From 1969 to 1972, Jack worked as head football and track coach as well as the Athletic Director in Thayer, Missouri. In 1972, he returned to Northwest High School where he served as the assistant coach in football, basketball, and track. From 1989-2001 Jack held the position of Activities Director at Northwest High School. He also served as the President of the St. Louis Suburban Public High School Athletic Conference for two years. He was the MIAAA Athletic Director of the Year in 1999.
