• Northwest R-1 is now hiring Substitute Teachers for the 2021/2022 school year.

    If you would like to be a substitute for the District, please fill out the substitute application on Recruit & Hire.

    After you submit your application, please watch for an email letting you know when the next substitute meeting will be held. 

     New substitute meeting will be held once a month at the following location:

    Administrative Office

    4290 Gravois Rd

    House Springs, MO  63051 

    Please read all information below before starting the process to make sure you have all necessary information.

    To apply as a substitute for Northwest School District, you must have:

    • Current background check  
    • Follow the background check process below (background checks completed within the last year may be accepted)
    • Missouri State Substitute Certificate
    • And/or Missouri State Teaching Certificate

    **Please do not contact Northwest for Substitute Certificate help.  Only DESE can assist with this part of the process.

    Fingerprint Background Check

    New employees of the District must complete a fingerprint background check with the Missouri State Highway Patrol/FBI before they can start working.

    Fingerprint fees: Fingerprint fees are $41.75.  New employees may be reimbursed by the District.
