The Northwest Parent Summit was originally scheduled for November 12 and was postponed due to winter weather. The rescheduled date of January 28 has been canceled due to low registration numbers.
We look forward to bringing the Northwest Parent Summit back for the upcoming 2020-21 school year.
The Kindergarten Registration and Expo will be held Feb. 29 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Northwest High School gymnasium.
In order to register for kindergarten for the 2020-21 school year, the child must be 5 years old by Aug. 1, 2020.

The Board of Education candidate filing for the April 7, 2020 election will open December 17, 2019. Individuals will be elected to serve as members of the Board of Education for a term of three years. Interested parties may file at the Superintendent’s Office between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The office is located at 4290 Gravois Road, House Springs, MO 63051. The District is scheduled to be closed, December 23, 2019 through January 2, 2020. The closing date for filing is January 21, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. Candidates are placed on the ballot in the order the filings were submitted. Cedar Springs Elementary has been named as a Leader in Me Lighthouse School by Franklin Covey Co.
Melanie Robinson, art teacher at Cedar Springs Elementary School in the Northwest R-I School District, has been named the Missouri Art Education Association Art Educator of the Year.
John Baker, third grade teacher at High Ridge Elementary, recently had his head shaved in front of the entire school. While this may not sound like that big of a deal, it is. His head was shaved as a fundraiser for one of his students who is currently battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
